The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi has announced the registration of 5,000 volunteers in Abu Dhabi for the third phase of clinical trials for an inactivated Covid-19 vaccine. Emiratis and residents of all nationalities aged between 18 and 60 are eligible to take part in the trials if considered suitable after a medical check-up. Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi was the first person given the Phase III inactivated vaccine for Covid-19. The UAE was the preferred choice to conduct the Phase III trials for the inactive Covid-19 vaccine because of its demographic heterogeneity, allowing for robust research across multiple ethnicities and increasing its feasibility for global application to the success of the trials.  Great work Abu Dhabi 👌

'Third stage' of Covid-19 vaccine trials underway in Abu Dhabi

Hotels in Abu Dhabi are busier this month than they were last July, despite Covid-19

Abu Dhabi thanks private hospital group as it discharges final Covid-19 patients

A private medical group has been thanked for its role in tackling the coronavirus outbreak, as health officials confirmed that its hospitals had released their last Covid-19 patients. Mediclinic treated cases at four hospitals in Abu Dhabi City and Al Ain as part of joint efforts with the government to tackle the outbreak. "It is without a doubt that the national efforts and the teamwork between the public and private sector are what enabled us to face this pandemic and maintain the health and safety of all members of the community," said Dr Jamal Alkaabi, acting undersecretary of Department of Health - Abu Dhabi. UAE’s Mars Mission ‘Hope’ on verge of creating history with July 15 launch

Abu Dhabi changes entry rules for residents to allow for 48-hour trips

Abu Dhabi has updated its travel rules to allow residents to take 48-hour trips outside the emirate. Motorists must be tested in the city before they leave and take their results with them. Previously, residents could leave Abu Dhabi but had to be screened before returning, at a clinic in Dubai or the Northern Emirates, to prove they were Covid-free. Police at the border must check text message confirmation from testing centres or the government’s Al Hosn tracing app to ensure all drivers and any passengers are negative.
