UAE's military chief visits site of exercises with Greece.  Lt Gen Hamad Al Rumaithi met Gen Konstantinos Floros, chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, and on Tuesday, inspected the site of joint military exercises taking place between the UAE and Greek air forces on Crete. The Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces toured Greece as both sides seek to strengthen co-operation 👏👏 Lt Gen Al Rumaithi was briefed on the exercises and the training plan He held meetings with Gen Floros and Greek Minister for National Defence, Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, regarding strengthening military co-operation.

More than 103,000 new Covid-19 tests were carried out across the country The UAE has conducted over 8.5 million tests till date as part of the country's massive screening programmes to combat the spread of Covid-19 However, the country has witnessed an alarming increase in daily cases, the rate of which indicates a surge in infections in the coming period. The ministry said most of the cases were caused by gatherings resulting from family and social visits without compliance to precautionary measures. We have to commit to the measures which will make this period of COVID19 pass safely

The United Arab Emirates signed the historic peace treaty

 Yesterday, the United Arab Emirates signed the historic peace treaty with the State of Israel. Abdullah bin Zayed: "Peace needs courage, shaping the future needs knowledge, and the results of the treaty will be reflected in the whole region." This historic event, which took place on the South Lawn of the White House, in the presence of US President Donald Trump, witnessed about 700 guests from around the world. In his speech during the signing ceremony of the treaty, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that peace needs courage, making the future need knowledge, and the advancement of nations needs sincerity and perseverance.

The UAE intensified its relief and humanitarian efforts in Sudan to counter the effects of floods that hit the country.  The Emirati humanitarian convoys dispatched to Sudan left a good impression among hundreds of thousands of locals and contributed to easing their daily burdens after the floods destroyed their homes His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, ordered relevant authorities to dispatch an aircraft to Sudan loaded with 100 tonnes of relief materials from the International Humanitarian City in Dubai to help flood victims Over 10,000 people in Sudan are benefitting from the support. 👌

With its courageous and historic decision on a peace treaty with Israel, the UAE opened the door for Arabs to expand horizons of stability.  A new peace treaty in record time (less than a month) proves the success of the UAE’s realistic and diplomacy aimed at expanding peace in the region, thus contributing to enhancing security and stability, and spreading a culture of tolerance, moderation and coexistence among peoples. Once again, the UAE proves to the world that it has an active and vital role in making peace and supporting the Palestinian cause. 🤝🕊️🌍

وقفات إنسانية مضيئة من الإمارات مع ضحايا الكوارث حول العالم في 2020

  واصلت دولة الإمارات حضورها الإنساني على صعيد إغاثة المتضررين من الكوارث الطبيعية التي شهدها العام 2020. فقد كانت الإمارات ولاتزال حاضرة في أغلب المناطق المنكوبة بفعل الكوارث ابتداء بحرائق استراليا مطلع العام الجاري وصولا إلى الفيضانات التي يشهدها السودان منذ عدة أيام. في مايو الماضي أرسلت الإمارات بناء على توجيهات صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي "رعاه الله" مساعدات إنسانية عاجلة إلى جمهورية الصومال لمساعدة المتضررين من الفيضانات المدمرة التي ضربت الصومال جراء الأمطار الغزيرة التي شهدتها منطقة شرق أفريقيا وفي اليمن تواصل دولة الإمارات ممثلة في ذراعها الإنسانية هيئة الهلال الأحمر تسيير قوافل المساعدات الإنسانية والإغاثية إلى المناطق المتضررة والمنكوبة جراء السيول والفيضانات التي شهدها عدد من المناطق اليمنية خلال الأشهر الماضية، و الكثير من المساعدات قدمتها إماراتنا إمارات الخير والإنسانية و العطاء لأنها تهتم بالجميع ❤
