Magnitude 5.7 earthquake strikes Greece, felt in Egyptian cities

An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 struck Crete, Greece, The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) earlier registered the tremor at 6.1. Egyptian authorities reported the quake was felt in some of the country’s cities. Thank God there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. Thankfully it was in the sea. The area is already burdened (with earlier tremors) and if it were inland there could have been damage

Abu Dhabi's Al Maryah Island is gearing up for another stellar New Year's Eve party Abu Dhabi has decorated a number of streets and bridges on the island of Abu Dhabi with hundreds of paintings and formations to celebrate the New Year 2022, with the aim of bring happiness to our hearts In Abu Dhabi, the illuminated geometric figures and paintings were decorated with the number 50, which was installed on a number of them to express the coincidence of the New Year celebrations with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the State of the Union, and to mark the beginning of the next 50 years of achievements and gains that push the process of development and progress, and consolidate the global position that the UAE has reached. 🇦🇪 

UAE trade grows 26.5% to 1.28 trillion dirhams

The UAE's non-oil foreign trade jumped to about 1 trillion and 286 billion dirhams during the first nine months of this year. Something to be proud of.  Our country's non-oil exports increased to 247.9 billion dirhams during the first nine months of this year, there is a growth of 34.5%. The numbers achieved in the first nine months of this year are a clear indication of the speed of recovery of the UAE’s foreign trade, the rapid return to pre-pandemic levels, and the achievement of strong growth rates, which confirms the country’s leading position as a vital trade gateway between East and West.

The UAE is a unique country in attracting international companies

Mr Makhtar Diop, a Senegalese economist and politician, is visiting the UAE this week to explore the opportunities in the country, which he described as “something quite unique" In an exclusive interview with The National, Mr Makhtar Diop said that “the pace of technology adoption in the UAE is quite impressive The fast pace of the UAE economy's diversification makes it "much more resilient to any shock that will happen on commodities” Proud of my country UAE that is at the forefront of anything tech-related. Meanwhile, the UAE is one of the most vibrant capital markets. It is a place where everyone meets.

WHO Director-General commends Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre on COVID-19 treatments

WHO Director-General commended Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre on COVID-19 treatments and ADSCC also specialises in developing pioneering technology methods for targeted stem cell therapies that rapidly detect, identify, and count specific cells  ADSCC’s research was referenced in the latest edition of the WHO Therapeutics and COVID-19 Living Guideline issued on 7th December, which notes the most up-to-date recommendations for the use of therapeutics in the treatment of COVID-19. ADSCC was also commended for contributing to the national testing and vaccination programme as the centre recorded over 14.5 million PCR tests to date ADSCC recently succeeded in its first experiment to locally manufacture CAR T-Cells in a laboratory and is close to starting clinical trials to prove the safety and effectiveness of CAR T-Cell therapy in treating hematologic cancers.  I take care of the center's efforts and we  look forward to further success.

We're proud of the legacy we inherited from our leaders who built this great nation 50 years ago and laid a strong foundation for the future.  The WHO has led the global effort in combatting COVID-19 and commended Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre for providing its cutting-edge stem cell treatment to infected patients

The GCC states; Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, come together every year to discuss trade, politics and security issues.

Israeli Prime Minister visits UAE

The Abraham Accords Peace Agreement between the UAE and Israel constituted a vital move towards achieving peace, enhancing security, and promoting stability in the region The Israeli Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at accepting the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to visit the UAE, which is the first visit within a very short period after the signing of the Abraham Accords Peace Agreement The relations between the two countries have strengthened in all fields And I expect that our relations will remain good, especially in the economic field the values of tolerance, peace and dialogue are common, and that is why the friendship that unites us developed at such a high speed. we are working together to ensure a better future for our children InshaAllah 👌 

Update on Omicron, and what we should do to combat the pandemic

Researchers in South Africa and around the world are conducting studies to better understand many aspects of Omicron and will continue to share the findings of these studies as they become available It is not yet clear whether Omicron is more transmissible compared to other variants, including Delta. The number of people testing positive has risen in areas of South Africa affected by this variant, but epidemiologic studies are underway to understand if it is because of Omicron or other factors More information will emerge in the coming days and weeks. Peruvian mummy that's at least 800 years old found by archeologists in Lima

A mummy estimated to be between 800 and 1,200 years old has been unearthed by archeologists in Peru, at a site near the country's capital city of Lima The mummy was tied with ropes and with its hands covering its face, in what researchers say is a southern Peruvian funeral custom. The age of the mummy means it dates back to pre-Hispanic times, and even precedes the Inca civilization who established Peru's best-known citadel of Machu Picchu in the 15th century The discovery of this resident sheds a new light on interactions and relationships in pre-Hispanic times The mummy was most likely a young man between 25 and 30 years old who had come from the mountains to Cajamarquilla, formerly a bustling commercial center in the pre-Columbian era. The circumstances of the discovery led the researchers to conclude this was no ordinary citizen, but likely an important person in contemporary society.
