The vice president of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, is in a visit to the UAE

General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, received in Abu Dhabi the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, who recently visited the country as part of willingness to enhance mutual participation and cooperation in issues Bilateral, regional and global, as the UAE is an important partner of the European Union.

Josep Borrell said during the visit: “The UAE is an important partner in the Gulf region and we have a common interest in maintaining the security and stability of this region and our common neighbourhood. That is why the European Union wants to continue its regular political dialogue on the challenges we face in the region, in addition to continuing our regular dialogue on human rights

Borrell added: “The election of the UAE as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the next two years will provide broader opportunities to strengthen our joint efforts in addressing regional challenges

He said that the European Union considers the UAE an important partner and is interested in continuing to enhance mutual participation and cooperation with it on bilateral as well as regional and global issues.
