Building the facial bones of an Emirati patient by 3D printing in Dubai

In line with Dubai's strategy to benefit from 3D printing technology in various aspects of life, for the first time, we used 3D printing technology to design and print titanium facial implants to rebuild facial bones.

The success of this type of 3D printing process opens the door for the introduction of (biological metallic face) techniques to save cases of bone deformities caused by tumors.

This new technique saved the patient from taking many bones and soft and hard tissues from the tiny blood vessels from the legs and abdomen to reconstruct the face, which would have harmed the patient's life and severely affected his quality of life.

This is the first case in the world that these techniques are applied to save facial deformity and reconstruct bone defects, using titanium fillings of this size, compared to other techniques.
